A southerly wind, gusting to up to 50 miles per hour brought .16 inches of snow Monday morning.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Grogan will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with open house at their home from 2-4 pm. On Sun., October 24.
Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Bogaard will observe their 25th wedding anniversary with open house at the Ace with a dance on October 23, 8:00-12:30.
Mrs. Lois Wells and her 5th and 6th grade students visited the Pioneer Thursday. Mr. Camarigg showed the group around the shop and explained the workings of the type of equipment etc.
The United Presbyterian Women of Sanborn are presenting their annual Birthday Party for the ladies of the community this Friday, Oct. 22.

Joel, Justin, and Jordan, triplet sons of the Jim Stallmans, were pictured in this issue of The Pioneer. They celebrated their second birthday anniversary Sunday at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church.
In the special election of HMS Community School District Tuesday, the proposed $2,500,000 bond issue failed to get the 60% approval required to pass.
Several young people made Profession of Faith at the Christian Reformed Church during the worship service Sunday. They included Amy Bootsma, Laura Reitsma, Megan Bousma, and Mark Buteyn.
The HMS Marching Band and Flag Team received a I rating at the Iowa High School Music Association State Marching Band Contest held at Cherokee on October 12.
