Congratulations are warranted for the 16 fine young singers from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn who participated in the grade 7/8 Northwest Iowa ICDA Honor Choir on November 2 in Le Mars. The group includes Natalie Daggett, Carter Dolphin, Clara Funk, Caleb Grotluschen, Jordan Lux, David McIllroy, Kaylee Newkirk, Noah Niichel, Jackie Ramirez, Lawton Schiphoff, JW Van der Merwe, Lindsey Van Es, Lillian Van Loon, Jacoby Vermeer, Kaylee Walker and Margo Wilson.
In addition, Jordan Lux earned the distinction of being chosen as soloist.
Over 300 singers from 34 schools came together for the event. The 7/8 Bass Festival choir was under the direction of David Schaefer and the 7/8 Treble Festival choir was directed by Samantha Robilliard. The HMS students are directed by Kristi Wingert.
