Jim Dasen of Cedar Rapids, and Jeff Dasen of Scottsdale, AZ both arrived by car last week Tuesday to spend time in the parental Charlotte Dasen home. Anita Goetz who had arrived earlier in the week, and Esther D’Agrosa of Boyden drove to the airport at Omaha Thursday to pick up Steve Goetz who had flown in from Fairbanks, AK. Jim returned home on Sunday evening.
Linda Rozeboom rode along with Ray and Henri Schnurr to Omaha, NE on Sunday to celebrate their great-granddaughter Judson Rozeboom’s second birthday anniversary. The party was given by his parents, Matthew and Emily Rozeboom and sister Nora. Great-aunt Mary Abels of Orange City accompanied them.
Son, James Carney of Dennison visited Steve and Lindy Buren for Mother’s Day weekend. They all visited cousin Meloni Bressmao, James and Derrick on Sunday at Spencer where they also enjoyed treats from the Dairy Queen.
Wyatt Borden, son of Scott and Ruth Borden was honored on his graduation from HMS with a party on May 7. Approximately 100 guests attended. Special guests were Linda Henning of Deadwood, SD, Rachelle Cardin of Aurora, CO and Mark Noll of Iowa Falls.
Sylvia Andringa reported walking around her home this weekend and discovering a mother opposum and babies settled under her air conditioner. They appeared to be right at home.
Allison Mercer of Spirit Lake, Stephanie Vander Plaats of Sheldon, Becky Suckow and Carol Elgersma celebrated Don Hakeman’s 93rd birthday with him last week Tuesday afternoon. Kris Hakeman joined the party from Coral Springs, FL via a zoom cast.
Last Friday Jose and Carol Salazar traveled to Hooper, NE to attend the pre-school graduation of granddaughter Claire Ann Ten Kley. Claire is the daughter of Christy and Jeremy Ten Kley. Refreshments were served after the graduation. They all went out to a restaurant for supper afterwords to celebrate. They reported that it was a fun and enjoyable evening.
Austin Holz of Watertown, SD, Josh and Angie Holz and Blake of Larchwood and Jim and Becky Suckow were Saturday evening supper guests in the Jack and Carol Elgersma home.
Keith and Nancy Iverson attended the graduation of their niece’s son, Matt Larson at Britt Sunday. Also attending were Rexann and Bill Brant of Paullina and Rodney and Dorothy Kroese of Ellsworth, MN. Matt is the son of Mike and Amy Larson and grandson of the late Reggie Kroese.
Amy Ingram, Parker and Charlotte of Fairbanks, AK arrived by plane last week Wednesday to spend time in the home of her grandmother, Charlotte Dasen. Karla Dasen, Matthew Dasen, and Aaron and Katerina Costilla-Dasen, Sebastian and Rose, all of Scottsdale, AZ arrived last week Thursday to spend time in the Charlotte Dasen home. They all came especially for Charlotte’s 90th birthday anniversary and the Dasen reunion. They all returned to their respective homes on Monday. Jim Dasen came Friday and returned home on Sunday. Cathy Gray of Rochester, MN came Friday and Jerry and Brian Gray came Saturday. They returned home on Sunday.
Keith and Nancy Iverson attended the graduation reception Saturday for their granddaughter, Kirsten Letche at Marcus. She is the daughter of Brian and Shannon Letche of Marcus.
Houseguests over the weekend in the Keith and Nancy Iverson home were Lanae Kroese, Jody, Aubrey and Marty of Otsega, MN. They came especially to attend the graduation of Kersten Letche.
A Dasen Reunion was held Sunday in conjunction with a 90th birthday party in honor of Charlotte Dasen. The event was held at the Yesterday Memories Museum with a family noon potluck followed by an open house for Charlotte’s birthday in the afternoon. Approximately 42 Dasens were in attendance coming from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Arizona, Alaska, Fort Dodge and Bode, IA. They were very impressed with the Museum and several stated that they would like to come back for a tour. Afternoon guests from out-of-town came from Sanborn, Arnolds Park, Iowa Falls, and Boyden.
