A group of snowmobilers from Sanborn enjoyed snowmobiling in Wyoming recently. They left Sanborn on the 15th of February and returned home late on the 20th. Enjoying the trip were Duane Van Veldhuizen, Scott and Rachel Schirmer, Trenton and Natasha Schirmer, Kinsey Schirmer, Ann Elgersma, Jay and Juanita Anliker, Peggy Japenga, Jack Mastbergen and Jake Elgersma. They experienced icy roads in South Dakota going to Wyoming, resulting in a trailer tipping. The four sleds on the trailer were totaled. There were no injuries.
Tuesday evening Harriet Van Veldhuizen was a guest of Arlene Boscaljon at her apartment in the Christian Retirement Home in Sheldon. She and other guests enjoyed a meal and Valentine treats. They had a fun time visiting.
Mike and Judy Visser hosted a birthday party for Kendel Hoekstra Sunday for her fifth birthday anniversary. Guests for dinner were the Justin and Mandy Hoekstra family of Hull, Tanya Bouma and sons of Pella, Lee and Susie Van Tol and Gertie Visser.
On Valentine’s Day Jeane and Harriet Van Veldhuizen went to Rock Valley to visit Jeane’s sister, Esther Van Den Berg who recently moved to a Four Seasons Apartment there. They enjoyed noon lunch, a tour of the complex and Valentine cake at coffee time.
