Thursday, March 22, 1973
The Sanborn Fire Department was called to extinguish a grass fire at the Dwayne Bieser farm two and one-half miles east of Sanborn on Highway 18 Tuesday afternoon.
The final lesson in an adult ed course in beginning ceramics, through Northwest Iowa Vocational School was conducted Monday at Lyman Ceramics. The seven-week course was directed by Mrs. Bernard Lyman.
Mrs. Willis Vander Woude entertained the Emanon Club Monday at her home. Prize winners were Mrs. Neil Beyer, Mrs. Arnold Wold and Mrs. Herschel Keedy.
Jeffy Verhoef has been accepted for enrollment in the Carpentry Program at Northwest Iowa Vocational School at Sheldon.
Mr. and Mrs. Cornie Hartog returned to Minneapolis Saturday night from Hawaii. They visited relatives in Minnesota and returned home to Sanborn on Monday.

The HMS High School presented their Variety Show March 13 featuring the Swing Choir, Jazz Band, and speech students.
HMS guard Nicole Jaycox was recently named to the Class 2A Northwest District Basketball team. She led the Hawks in scoring this year with an average of 13 points per game. She is a junior.
