Saturday a graduation party was held at Miller Park for Chloe Elbon daughter of Jeff and Alissa Holland of Buffalo Center. She is a granddaughter of Jack and Carol Elgersma and great-granddaughter of Norm Holz of Sanborn. Chloe graduated from Forest City High School on May 21 and is enrolled in the nursing program at NIACC in Mason City.
On Friday Jose and Carol Salazar drove to Sioux City to meet their daughter, Christy Ten Kley to pick up granddaughter Claire Ann. She came to spend the weekend with her grandparents. They enjoyed swimming, shopping and her favorite foods. Claire returned home Monday.
Karla Dasen, Matt Dasen, Katie Dasen and children Sebastian and Rose, all of Scottsdale. AZ arrived by plane at Minneapolis last week Tuesday to visit Charlotte Dasen. Jeff Dasen was already here, having driven out earlier. They all left Friday to spend time with Minnesota relatives. Jim Dasen came last week Tuesday to visit his mother and to visit with the Arizona Dasens.
Theresa Zafft and children Hannah and Conner of Hayfield, MN arrived last week Wednesday to visit overnight in the Charlotte Dasen home and with Jim Dasen and the Arizona Dasens. The children enjoyed staying overnight in the Miller Park Cabin. Esther D’Agrosa of Boyden was a Wednesday luncheon guest in the Dasen home. She came especially to visit with Charlotte’s family.
Barb Pry had the pleasure of attending the wedding of her granddaughter, Emma Pry to Blake Nehring this weekend. Emma is the daughter of Tom Pry and Kristen Pry. The ceremony and reception were held at the Deerwood Country Club golf course in New London. Family flew in from all over the country. Barb reported that it was great to have everyone together for the weekend to help celebrate.
George and Helen Andringa of Bettendorf visited his mother, Sylvia Andringa Saturday and took her out for breakfast. In the afternoon Sylvia’s great-niece, Bretta Grand of Worthington, MN visited her.
Too late for last week
Arleen Thorne of Alva, OK was a weekend guest of Harriet Van Veldhuizen. Saturday noon they took Jeane Van Veldhuizen along to the annual Van Veldhuizen Family Reunion at Sheldon Pizza Ranch. Other relatives attending came from Sheldon, Orange City, Sioux Center, Sibley, IA, Sioux Falls, SD, Lakeville, MN. Later in the afternoon the ladies went to Hartley to visit Irma Jacobsma. On Sunday morning Arleen’s granddaughter, Jill York and her daughter, Oakleigh, and Jeane Van Veldhuizen joined them for worship and noon luncheon at Harriet’s home before they left for Oklahoma.
Sunday evening Shari Pyle, Diane, Chad and Katie McKee and friend Tate all of Sioux Falls, and Donna, John and Kim Farrell helped Harriet celebrate her birthday at the Country Club.
