Ryker Eliker of Lincoln, NE came Sunday to spend a few days in the Randy and Chad Lyman homes before he starts school next week. Ryker is the son of Swede and Kim Eliker and grandson of the Randy Lymans.
Linda Rozeboom had lunch with grand-niece Jessica Froke of Sioux Falls and niece Laurie Siemonsma of Archer at Jay’s Restaurant Saturday.
On Sunday Carol Salazar, Margaret Larson, Keely Salazar and Nicole Roder attended a wedding shower at Sioux Falls in honor of Lizzy Hill. Lizzy will become the bride of Carol’s grandson, Jacob Ten Kley in September. Carol reported that it was a great shower and Lizzy received many nice gifts.
Kent and Glenda Miller attended the Miller family reunion held last week at Branson, MO. They returned home Saturday.
Jeff Dasen of Scottsdale, AZ left Monday morning for home after spending a month in the parental Charlotte Dasen home.
Hank and Mary Iedema were Sunday supper guests of Rick and Alisa Stanton at Sibley. Additional guests were MaryAnn Stanton, Zack Stanton and Tucker Stanton.
Becky Suckow held a retirement party for her husband, Jim on Friday, July 28. Guests were Ray and Henri Schnurr, Ron and Audrey Schott, Jack and Carol Elgersma, Lorn and Joan Wills, and Shawn and CJ Schroeder.
Local News Omitted Last Week
Wade and Sherryl Tressler had visitors from Henderson, MN this past week. Richard Brooks and Ruby Johns camped with the Tresslers at Douma Park over the weekend.
Larry and Fran Peelen attended the wedding rehearsal and wedding of their granddaughter Abby Meyer to Wes Beckler held at the Citylight Mozaic church in Omaha. They also attended the reception afterwards held at the Post. The Bride had put together an unusual Father-Daughter dance, so fun to watch. Larry’s sister Marjean met the Peelen’s at the wedding and returned to Califorinia the following day. Larry and Fran stayed with Hannah Meyer. Hannah’s parents Dianne and Ken Meyer left Omaha early to help set up Rocky Mountain High camp for the incoming youth group members. Hannah left early Saturday morning with the Westwood Community church youth group to attend Rocky Mountain High. Dianne and Ken celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary while in the Rocky Mountains.
Weekend guests at the Lee and Susie Van Tol home were Don and Jackie Vander Zee and their children, Crystal and Dwayne Allgyer, Kyle and Nicole Vander Zee, Kayla and Nathan Middel, Chad and Jenny Vander Zee, Garret and Sarah Vander Zee and families all from South Holland, IL area. Additional guests Saturday were Dave and Stacy, Wyatt, Sami and Chase Van Tol from Tea, SD, Mike and Judy Visser and their children Tanya and Troy Bouma and family from Pella, and Mandy and Justin Hoekstra and family from Hull, Stephanie and Jordan Schmidt and family from Del Rapids, SD and Justin and Karla Van Tol and sons from Sanborn, Rebecca and Ken Miller and daughters from Primghar. Family pictures were taken in the back yard and everyone went to the Vander Haag Museum for supper.
Anita and Steve Goetz left by plane Friday after visiting for several weeks in the parental Charlotte Dasen home.
Linda Rozeboom enjoyed a visit with niece Cloe Starkenberg from Lake Park Saturday morning, her sister-in-law, Pat Maranell from Papillion, NE Saturday evening, and breakfast at Jay’s Restaurant Sunday morning with niece Laurie Siemonsma from Archer.
Larry and Fran Peelen recently attended the Hefty Brothers farm show. This show is always interesting because of new technology talked about and good entertainment. Featured were polka music, humorous talks and educational talks about new products on the market.
