Marilyn Muur, daughter of Earl and Ruth Diephuis was born June 25, 1933. Her growing up years were mostly in the Thomson, Illinois area and she graduated from Thomson High School in 1951.
On July 24, 1953, she married her loving and caring husband Russell Muur. This union was blessed with two children: Kevin and Kathy. Many years of their lives were spent farming in Thomson. Though times were tough in those years, Russ and Marilyn held firm to their anchor – Jesus Christ. As they would say: “We may be ‘poor’ in material things, we are so blessed and ‘rich’ in faith, hope, and love.”
Marilyn was a devoted wife and mother, two jobs she enjoyed greatly and carried out very well.  But more importantly she was devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Marilyn passed from this life into Glory on Monday, September 25, 2023, at her residence in Sanborn, surrounded by her family. She was 90 years of age.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Russ of 70 years. A true example of what a loving and caring relationship should be and last for a lifetime; her son, Kevin Muur of Shakopee, Minnesota; her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy (Joel) Wright of Sanborn, Iowa; grandson, Ethan Wright and granddaughter, Jen Hoover. Her siblings and their spouses, Ruth (Gene) Muur, Linda (Gary) Houzenga, Judy (Ron) Houzenga, her nieces, nephews, and many friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
