Mr. Larry Hook was hired Tuesday as Chief of Police for Sanborn at a salary of $600 per month.
Tuesday, Oct. 2 marked the day of the 45th anniversary of Dr. M.J. Shanahan of his dental practice in Sanborn.
With excavatation currently underway, building plans have begun for a new 700,000 bushel capacity elevator for Sanborn Coop Grain Company south of the railroad tracks.
Henry Kreykes and Herman Ver Hoef both had Golden Spikes presented to them on retirement from the Milwaukee Railroad.

A heat wave blew in late Friday night bringing a downpour and gusty winds that blew down one large tree and branches all over town. (The recorded temperature was 87 degrees.)
Alan Graves will be exhibiting cattle at World Dairy Expo at Madison, WI.
Bruce Naber and Katie Stanley were crowned Homecoming HMS King and Queen at coronation ceremonies Tuesday night.
