Meet halted after boys 400 meter hurdles
Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn is home to a conference champion on the track. Lexi Croatt won the 3000 meter run, a highlight for the Hawks as they participated in the War Eagle Conference Meet April 29 at Marcus. As a team, HMS finished ninth with 25 points. The girls team champion was Hinton. The Blackhawks amassed 188 points, nearly three times the number of their nearest competitor.
The Hawks placed well in the field events. Eliza Tewes finished third in the discus. Megan Otto was fifth in the high jump and Alexis Grover sixth in the shot put. Back on the oval, Jocelyn Abonce came in sixth in the 800 meters while Croatt was seventh in the 1500. Both were part of the fourth-place distance medley relay. Running the first two legs of that relay were Otto and Pam Mutombo. The 4×200 relay of Payton Diehm, Otto, Kynlee Dolphin and Mutombo finished sixth.
