Narrow victories allow George-Little Rock to sweep Hawks
Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn pushed George-Little Rock to the limit in two of the three sets the teams played September 12 at George. The host team was able to win the high leverage situations to get the sweep over the Hawks by scores of 27-25, 25-20 and 27-25. With the loss, HMS dipped to 1-3 in the conference and 2-5 overall.
Abby Douma put down 10 kills with Moriah Otto adding six and Eliza Tewes and Kylee Schiphoff five apiece. Mohni supplied 23 assists.
Reaching double digits in digs were Lindsey Van Es with 17 and Mohni with 10. Schiphoff had the lone solo block. Douma recorded three block assists, while Otto, Mohni and Schiphoff each had one.
Kenadie Van Loon accounted for half of the teams 10 aces on 8-of-9 serving. Tewes was 13-of-14 with two ace serves.
