Boyden-Hull gets physical in beating Hawk boys
Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn went out of conference to play Boyden-Hull January 30 at Hull. The Comets were not so hospitable hosts, treating HMS badly from the get-go in a 56-24 win over the Hawks. Carter Kleinwolterink paced the Comets with 25 points.
“Boyden-Hull was on us from the opening tip,” stated HMS head coach Naet Hoaglund. “They started fast and played assertive and aggressive and pretty much imposed their will on us. We didn’t have an answer for Kleinwolterink– he’s really efficient and good at what he does. Offensively, we were unable to find any flow or generate consistent scoring opportunities. Our ball movement wasn’t very good and we struggled to create closeouts. Boyden-Hull played us very physically and we didn’t respond very well.”
Isaac Schierholz scored 10 points, grabbed seven rebounds and passed for three assists. Jayden Leth added nine points and four rebounds. Jackson Vogt made three steals.
