The Okoboji/HMS girls wrestling team finished up the duals portion of the wrestling season with a triangular January 28 at Rock Rapids. The Pioneers got a win and a loss to finish the season at 13-2. They defeated a short-handed West Lyon team 54-5 but lost to host Central Lyon/George-Little Rock 62-18.
HMS wrestler Madi Lauer was in the lineup for both duals. The 110-pounder won by forfeit in the West Lyon dual. She lost by technical fall to the Lions’ Jayda Pytleski by a score of 16-1 in 4:00. Another wrestler from HMS, Mahkenzie Mattingly, wrestled a JV match against the Lions’ Ashtyn Knobloch. Mattingly won by fall in 1:14.
