Points were easier to come by for the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn track and field boys at the Wolverine Relays held May 8 at Paullina. The Hawks scored 58 of them to place fifth. Host South O’Brien finished first with 179 points.
Caden Douma placed second in the high jump. Finishing third were Graham Lux in the 200 meters and Ryan Grotluschen in the 400 meters.
Fourth-place finishes were earned by Karter Zimmer in the long jump and Nathan Stofferan in the 100 meters. Also placing fourth were the 4×100 and 4×200 relays both with Jose Perez-Perez, Lux, Isaac Schierholz and Stofferan and 4×400 relay of Lux, Carter Dolphin, Zimmer and Ryan Grotluschen.
