Knobloch medals twice in two duals for Hawks

Gracie Knobloch won medalist honors twice as Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn faced Gehlen Catholic and Remsen St. Mary’s last week in War Eagle Conference action. The senior was the only varsity golfer for HMS on both occassions so there were no HMS team scores.
Gehlen won with a 205 score May 5 at Willow Creek Golf Course in Le Mars. Knobloch fired the low round of 46, three better than the Jays’ Rysaiah Sitzmann. Golfing in JV roles for HMS, Mason VerHelst shot a 62, Stella Anderson a 68 and Kamrynn Visser-Jennings a 72.

Knobloch earned medalist honors in her fourth consecutive dual as HMS hosted the St. Mary’s Hawks May 9 at Sanborn Golf and Country Club. She shot a 41 which was nine strokes better than runner-up Zajara Galles of RSM which won with a 208 total. It was the low round of the year for Knobloch who has been the medalist in five of her eight duals. There were five HMS golfers competing at the JV level. VerHelst fired a 64, Visser-Jennings and Anderson each shot 66, Emery Cammann carded a 77 and Addily Benz an 80.
