Ashlyn Verrips raced in the 2023-24 school year as a seventh grader at Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn. She moved to Texas with her father and this year was a member of the Eagles track team from Pleasanton, TX.
Ashlyn, who is 14 years old and an eighth grader, has done extremely well with the team. She was invited to the Track Meet of Champions in San Antonio, TX which was held on May 12. There Ashlyn ran in the 100 meter dash and in two relay races. She placed third in the 100 meters and she anchored the 4×400 to a first-place finish.
Ashlyn is the granddaughter of Dan and Becky Verrips of Sanborn.
