Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn blanked Sibley-Ocheyedan 8-0 in a Class 2A Region 3 opening round game Monday night at Hartley. The Hawks scored four times in the fifth inning to end the game by the eight-run rule. Next up is a quarterfinal matchup with West Lyon at 7:00 p.m. July 9 at Inwood. The regional semifinals are slated for July 11 and the final July 14.
