Knobloch places sixth for HMS at WEC girls tourney

Gracie Knobloch finished sixth and earned a medal at the War Eagle Conference girls tournament held May 13 at Willow Creek in Le Mars. The senior was the only golfer competing for Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn.
“Gracie ended up having one hole that she struggled on but recovered nicely to shoot 91 on a tough golf course,” said HMS coach Cheryl Kroese. “Overall in conference, Gracie earned 1st Team All-Conference recognition. She finished 2nd overall in Conference points!”
Ashlyn Kramer of Hinton earned medalist honors after shooting an 87 over the 18 holes. Akron-Westfield was the tourney champion with a team score of 371.
The WEC dual with South O’Brien was made up at the conference tourney using scores from the back nine. The Wolverines picked up the dual win but Knobloch was the medalist with a round of 43.
