In conjunction with their 44th annual meeting March 21, the O’Brien Funeral Association will be holding open house to their new facilities. The chapel was extensively remodeled and enlarged this past year.
At the regular meeting of the Town Council Monday evening, Mayor Merriam read a letter from the Iowa Highway Commission authorizing the Town of Sanborn to use stop signs on Highway 18 during school hours instead of the presently flashing lights. This traffic control system will be placed in effect in the near future.
The children of the Lawrence Tiffts are ill with the mumps this week.

Well known in the area for meat processing and state championship cured meats, John Anema has retired after devoting 38 years to his trade, with 33 years as a Sanborn business owner. A retirement open house will be held at Sanborn Foods 2-4 Friday, March 14.
Leonard and Margaret Foley returned Sunday after visiting their daughter, John and Susan Jones at Glendale, AZ.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Smith arrived home Thursday evening after spending a month in Phoenix, AZ.
