Eli Schlenger limited Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn to a pair of hits in his five innings of work and MMCRU shut out the Hawks 16-0 May 22 at Hartley. The sophomore hurler allowed two walks and struck out seven.
Blake Meendering and Aiden Bush each had a single for HMS and each stole a base. The walks were issued to Meendering and Aidan Espeland.
Starting pitcher Bush went two innings and allowed seven runs (four earned) on five hits, four walks and a hit batter. Hunter Daggett threw 1-1/3 innings of relief, yielding five runs on four hits with three walks and a strikout. Four of those runs were earned. Talan Zearing got the final 1-2/3 innings which contained four earned runs on two hits, three walks and one hit batter.
