Pam (Odegaard) Jenkins was a weekend guest in the Jim and Heidi Postma home over Railroad Days weekend. She came for the 45th class reunion of her former SHS classmates.
Donna and Kim Farrell and Harriet and Jeane Van Veldhuizen attended the Van Veldhuizen Family Reunion held at the Sheldon Pizza Ranch on Saturday afternoon. Nineteen relatives attended coming from Sibley, Boyden, Sioux Center, Orange City and Northwood, IA and from St. Cloud and LeSeur, MN. Later in the afternoon Jeane and Harriet went to Sanford Senior Care at Sheldon and visited Jeane’s sister, Joan Dykstra and their brother-in-law, Robert Zonnefeld. They also chatted with Harvey Verbrugge.
A Bridal Shower was held at the home of Nancy and Keith Iverson Saturday afternoon in honor of Shania Rassel, bride-elect of Caleb Buren. The event was hosted by Aunts of the groom. Special guests were Grandmother Rassel and Grandmother Karen Buren. Shania and Caleb are planning an October 12 wedding.
A total of 65 people attended the Hopkins Family Reunion held at the Community Center in Sanborn Saturday. They came from near and far. In attendance were relatives from Georgia, Texas, Arizona, Washington, Minnesota, South Dakota and Iowa. Conversation and food were plentiful. Some of the relatives had never met before. It was a great time for all in attendance.
David Amundson and Janie Slade of Canton, SD brought dinner Sunday to share with their Aunt Sally Knowlton.
Weekend guests in the home of Keith and Nancy Iverson were Shane and Lanea Elgersma of Otsego, MN and Brian and Shannon Letche and family of Marcus. On Friday night they were joined by Betheny and Jenna Buren, and Shania Rassel as dinner guests.
Curtis and Aimee Carlson hosted a Carlson Family Reunion at their home in Estherville Saturday. Present were Donna Fell, Janet Waite of Peoria, AZ, Joyce Hindman of Lincoln Center, OR., Stan and Nan Carlson of Iowa City, Tim and Beth Carlson of Cedar Rapids, Mike and Lori Carlson of Waverly, and Tim’s son Cliff Carlson and five children of Hudson, WI.
Don Hakeman was a Sunday dinner guest in the Jack and Carol Elgersma home.
Lois Hakeman and Sylvia Andringa visited Saturday in the home of Bryan and Becca Hakeman at Sioux Falls, They brought fresh sweet corn for the Hakemans to enjoy.
Linda Rozeboom spent Saturday with Paul and Shelly Rozeboom at Omaha, NE. Most of her grandkids and great-grandkids were also there to spend the day with her. She went especially to meet her newest great-granddaughter, Amorie Lee Nesbitt, daughter of Kaitlyn and Sam Nesbitt. They all enjoyed lunch at Lazlos.
Saturday afternoon Brandi Wright and children Maci, Jack and Kennedy, and Carol Elgersma travelled to Sioux Falls for a surprise birthday party for Roy Eeten for his 50th birthday anniversary. It was held at the home of his parents, Art and Fern Eeten. A BBQ supper was enjoyed.
Madi Norem of Fremont, NE and her family, hosted Kathy Wolters on Friday, July 30. They toured the Louis E. May Museum in Fremont and traveled to Omaha for pedicures and a nice lunch out. Kathy reported a very enjoyable day.
