Larry Dolphin, Sanborn, was fatally injured during the stock car feature race at the Alta Raceway Sunday night…funeral services were held Wednesday at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church.
The Sanborn Community School Board election will be held September 13 at the Municipal Building…Marian Jaycox has filed the necessary papers and will be seeking re-election to the Board of Directors.
Mr. and Mrs. Cornie DeJong returned home last Wednesday after spending a month in Europe…They visited relatives in several countries.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Vander Velde and son, Marlin and other relatives returned home last Thursday from a trip to Denmark where they visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Vander Velde. Keith is employed at Esbjerg, Denmark.

The Clothes Cupboard is holding a grand opening September 13 at the former NuYu building in Sanborn. The business is owned by Pam Bousema and Allison Mercer.
Due to lack of volunteers, Sanborn can not have the soccer program this year.
Grace Evangelical Free Church is hosting an open house inviting people to meet Pastor Ken Carlson and family on September 14 at Steve’s Coffee Shoppe.
An open house will be held September 14 in honor of Maye Felty on the occasion of her 90th birthday. It will be held at Steve’s Coffee Shoppe.
Donavon DeJong and Jean Voolkers are new teachers at Sanborn Christian School for the coming year.
