Alexis Croatt Is First Among This Trio Of Runners In The War Eagle Conference 1500 Meters.

In four events at the War Eagle Conference Meet, the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn girls had what it takes to be conference champions. Seizing first place individually at the meet, held May 3 at Hinton, were Emily Mutombo in the long jump and Jasmine Lux in the 400 meter dash. The duo also teamed with Abby Otto and Lydia Harders to capture the 4×100 meter relay and the sprint medley relay.
The Hawks scored 83 points as a team to finish third. The host Blackhawks amassed 136 points to edge out Unity Christian and be crowned conference team champion. The runner-up Knights totaled 132 points.
Lux added a second-place finish in the 100 meters where Mutombo placed fourth. Finishing third were Harders in the 200 and Madison Otto in the 3000. The third-place relays were the 4×200 made up of Abby Otto, Emily Otto, Anna VanderVeen and Kylee Schiphoff and the 4×400 consisting of VanderVeen, Abby Otto, Schiphoff and Harders.
The distance medley relay of Schiphoff, Emily Otto, VanderVeen and Madison Otto took fourth and 4×800 relay of Kamryn Ebel, Kayla Kathman, Jocelyn Abonce and Alexis Croatt claimed fifth.
