Remsen St. Mary’s no-hits HMS in five-inning game
Isaiah Garrietts tossed a five-inning no-hitter as Remsen St. Mary’s defeated Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn 15-0 June 13 at Hartley. The War Eagle Conference leaders improved to 19-0 on the season.
The only baserunner for HMS was Keith DeBoer who drew a walk in the second inning. Garrietts struck out only four batters but got flawless play from his defense.
HMS starting pitcher Evan Eilers worked three innings. He gave up 13 runs on 13 hits with four walks, two strikeouts and a hit batter. Ten of the runs were earned. Pitching the final two innings was Nick Bronstad. He allowed two runs (one earned) on one hit. Bronstad hit two batters, struck out one and walked one. There were four HMS errors.
