Remsen St. Mary’s tops HMS to stay unbeaten
Remsen St. Mary’s remained undefeated on the season with an 11-0 War Eagle Conference softball victory over Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn in five innings June 13 at Hartley. St. Mary’s collected 11 hits and allowed HMS only two baserunners in picking up win number 14.
“It was not our night,” said HMS head coach Stephanie Bronstad. “The girls couldn’t get the bats going and our defense wasn’t the best.”
Abby Otto recorded a single in the first inning. Eliza Tewes induced a walk in the third.
Kamryn Ebel pitched the five innings for HMS. Seven of the runs were earned. She walked five batters, struck out three and hit one. The defense committed five errors.
