Two new gas pumps were installed at Kruger’s Standard Service this week. Two other new pumps were installed a month ago.
Sanborn Firemen brought their new bright yellow fire truck out Monday evening… The Ford C-900 with 153 inch wheel base was purchased for $24,981.64.
Mr. C. F. (Forrest) Watters received a letter and certification last week from the Iowa Bankers Association in recognition for over 50 years in Iowa banking.

Bill Koopman of George, IA has been appointed Chief of Police for the City of Sanborn effective September 18.
The Dogmatizer staff is unveiling its first presentation this week in the Pioneer. It is the creative efforts of the students presented for the enjoyment of the Pioneer readers.
The Sanborn Thrift Shope will be phased out between now and October 1.

August 16 was a perfect day for a Tour of Gardens in Sanborn…Gardens visited were Feyerabend, Maranells, Norems, Gruenewalds, Boers, Browns, Hickses, Dekkers, Berd Snyder and Dennis Gardner.
Everyone is welcome to an open house to celebrate the 80th birthday of Tillie Anema on September 6, 2-4 p.m. at Cornerstone Orthodox Reformed Church.

A special ground breaking ceremony will be held September 6 at Prairie View for their 16-bed Creative Care unit for dementia related care.
