Bill Koopman, 28, Sanborn’s new Chief of Police, began his duties September 18.
Marvin Achterhof is among several around the area who have discovered an interesting hobby in hunting “Buried Treasure” with a metal detector. (He found buffalo nickels, watches, friendship rings, jack knives, Australian penny, Indian head pennies.)
Open house will be held September 28 at the public library as a farewell courtesy for Mrs. Fred Soop. She has been a librarian since 1956 and will retire October 1.
At a special congregational meeting of the Christian Reformed Church it was decided to undertake the construction of a new sanctuary.

Jan Hoogendorn is the new librarian in the Children’s Department of Sanborn Public Library.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held September 8 for the new Creative Care Unit to be constructed at Prairie View.
Harold and Francine Brandt were honored for their achievements as Shaklee Sales Leaders at the Shaklee Leadership Convention held September 4-7 in Orlando, FL.
