Larry and Fran Peelen traveled with a group from the area touring the POW Museums in Algona and a church in Stuart, Iowa. They spent the night in St. Joseph, MO, traveling the next day to Springfield, MO and the Lambert’s Cafe, home of throwed rolls. The next three nights were spent in the Towers hotel in Branson, MO. After checking into the motel the Peelens toured the Titanic museum. That evening was spent at the Hughes Brothers Family Show. The Family consisted of 55 members, all family. Each morning after breakfast the day started with devotions, singing of hymns and a time of prayer, after which the group boarded the bus for the adventure of the day. They toured the Dewey visitors center at Table Rock Dam and the overlook of the valley of Branson – a beautiful view. The afternoon was spent at School of the Ozarks, followed by a delicious meal prepared and served by the students using proper etiquette. The evening was spent at Shoji Tabuchi show. What a difference from his original theater but a great performance. His daughter encouraged him to perform again which he did with much enthusiasm. He said to tell everyone that he is back. Shoji’s theater had a fire but after the repairs were done a very cold weather struck his theater, breaking all the sprinkler systems. These breaks did a great deal of damage to the repaired theater, then covid closed the doors of his show. In March of this year Shoji’s daughter began putting a show together featuring a short program for Shoji’s. It was a big hit but only 210 people could attend. She continued to work on the show. Shoji preformed for one hour of beautiful music. They are in the process of putting together a Christmas show. Shoji and his beautiful daughter and her friends are back. We toured the Veteran’s Memorial Museum which started many interesting conversations amongst the veterans with us. The group had a late lunch before traveling to the Sight and Sound theater for the performance of JESUS, a beautiful way to end the tour. Before their departure on Friday morning, Wagner reviewed the week during devotion time. The Peelens reported that it was a very special week. There was one last stop at the cheese store in Osceola and a lunch break at Platte City, MO.
