The Okoboji/HMS wrestling squad won twice January 24 at Inwood during a triangular hosted by West Lyon. The Pioneers defeated Central Lyon/George-Little Rock 39-33 and topped the Wildcats 45-27.
Three grapplers from HMS saw action. Wrestling at 182 pounds, James Gellerman pinned the Lions’ Ethan Pedersen in 2:56 and won by forfeit against West Lyon. Bryce Dodge won by fall over Wildcat 152-pounder James Bullerman in 2:51. William Barbiere wrestled an extra match against Matthew Everhart of Central Lyon/George-Little Rock. Everhart decisioned Barbiere 12-6.
