It may not have come the way they wanted it, but the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn golf girls picked up their first War Eagle Conference dual victory. In just their second dual with a full team, the Hawks defeated George-Little Rock April 23 at Sanborn Golf and Country Club. This time, it was the Mustangs who did not have enough competitors to record a team score.
The 235 total for HMS was 17 strokes lower than the previous effort. Gracie Knobloch earned medalist honors with a 48. Kinsey Schirmer’s season-best round of 49 gained her the runner-up spot. The fourth-place medal went to Ava Dolphin with her low round of the year, a 60. Rounding out the scores were Kinley Sampson with a 78 and Kamryn Visser with an 88.
