Both the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn baseball and softball teams will soon begin tournament play.
The baseball team plays a Class 1A District 2 opening round game Saturday, July 6 at 7:00 p.m. at Marcus. The opponent will be the host MMCRU Royals. The winner advances to a District semifinal Tuesday, July 9 at 7:00 p.m. at a site to be determined. The opponent in that game will be the winner of Saturday’s opening contest at Marcus between Kingsley-Pierson and Sibley-Ocheyedan.
The Hawk softball team opens Class 2A Region 1 tourney play on the road against Emmetsburg. The game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 8 at Emmetsburg. The winner of that game will take on Sioux Central at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10 at a site to be determined.
