Hawk boys golf at WEC Tourney

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn took part in the War Eagle Conference Boys Golf Tournament held at Willow Creek in Le Mars on May 12. The Hawks shot a 374 total which was 39 strokes lower than the previous year. HMS also moved up two spots as a team.
“We played a pretty tough course and the kids did ok,” said Hawk coach Mark Japenga. “Aiden Bush shot very well posting an 84 for 18 holes, 42 and 42. We ended up eighth out of 11 teams. We continue to improve and make better decisions.”
Following Bush on the 18-hole scorecards were Jack Mastbergen with a 90, Eli Mastbergen with a 99, Lawton Schiphoff with a 101, Kolby Douma with a 112 and Blake Meendering with a 121.
