St. Mary’s holds HMS hitless in four-inning win
Landon Waldschmitt tossed a four-inning no-hitter as Remsen St. Mary’s blanked Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn 16-0 June 16 at Remsen. Class 1A’s top-ranked team had six hits and also took advantage of walks and hit batters in winning the War Eagle Conference game.
Hunter Daggett got the pitching start for HMS. He threw an inning plus, allowing 13 runs on five hits, seven walks and four hit batters. Four of the runs were earned. Reliever Mykle Meyers finished out the second inning and also pitched the third. He struck out four batters and walked one. Meyers gave up four earned runs on five hits. Waldschmitt struck out seven. The senior did not walk anyone, nor did he hit a batter. Neither team committed an error.
